Nairobi’s NIFC Deepens Partnership with ChainBLX to Build Africa’s AI Innovation Pipeline

Kenya’s government-backed financial center is doubling down on artificial intelligence. The Nairobi International Financial Centre (NIFC) has strengthened its strategic cooperation with ChainBLX SPC, cementing Kenya’s position as Africa’s premier hub for innovation, capital formation, and digital transformation.

The expansion expands on past participation through ChainBLX’s SCC Fund SP, and now includes the Art Fund SP and its portfolio business FlowPrompt.ai, which is billed as a visual, no-code AI orchestration platform. The platform allows users to create AI-driven workflows by combining different models and data streams without writing traditional code, decreasing the technical barrier for developers and company founders all over the continent.

The Prompter Community, which is central to the relationship, has been launched. The initiative aims to cultivate Africa’s next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, developers, and creators through a series of hackathons, investment opportunities, and capacity-building programs.

Kenyan innovators, developers, and startups can contribute to the FlowPrompt.ai platform until September 1, 2026. Selected participants will receive free access to the site, as well as coaching and information on prospective investment opportunities.

The stakes are enormous for participants. The top teams will be announced in January 2027 at Digital Davos, an event held by ChainBLX that coincides with the World Economic Forum’s annual conference in Davos, Switzerland. NIFC CEO Daniel Mainda will be a head judge for the hackathon series, indicating an official government commitment to the initiative.

ChainBLX CEO Karl Seelig described Kenya as presenting “one of the most forward-looking investment environments globally”, while Mainda framed the initiative in terms of agency rather than participation: “Kenya is no longer simply participating in the global digital economy; we are deliberately shaping its future.

The collaboration is the most recent in a string of public-private partnerships aimed at establishing Nairobi as a continental hub for AI talent development and digital capital flows, with the NIFC acting as both an institutional anchor and a gateway for global investors seeking to enter Africa’s rapidly growing tech ecosystem.
