Cue, a South African customer-service technology firm, has raised $5 million in new capital to help speed the development and international expansion of its artificial intelligence platform.
Knife Capital and FAM Investments co-led the financing round. Cue intends to utilize the funds to develop its AI agents, provide more advanced voice capabilities, increase security, and broaden integrations for large corporate customers.
Cue, founded in 2015, offers tools for organizations to manage client discussions via WhatsApp, social media platforms, chatbots, and live chat services. Its technology is presently used by over 500 organizations and brands in South Africa and the United Kingdom.
The company’s AI bots are trained to automatically respond to common questions, personalize client interactions, and handle particular support requests. More complicated cases can be referred to human customer support representatives.
The current investment follows Cue’s $2 million funding round in 2024, and it comes as organizations increasingly turn to AI-powered systems to improve response times, manage increasing volumes of customer questions, and ease support agents’ workload.
Cue will also work on creating a unifying customer-service platform rather than forcing firms to use many separate support products. The company thinks that merging automation, live support, and enterprise technologies in a single platform will enable organisations to provide more consistent customer experiences across several communication channels.
